An Introduction
The sunrises on this new adventure. What better opportunity to share my goals for writings and what I'm interested in.
Who am I?
“Let’s go around the room share a fact about yourself.” A statement that would send any reasonable person into a spiral of self-reflection, second-guessing, and ultimately settling for something totally mundane.
The inevitable descriptive exercise to capture the essential qualities I’d like to express coming into conflict with the challenge to communicate them effectively.
I’m Dan Cummings. I’m a software engineer, occasional writer, and perpetual tinkerer living in Michigan. I have a background in software support and engineering, with experience in enterprise software and application security. I enjoy exploring new technologies, building projects, and am interested in how I share what I learn with others.
What is this site?
This is a place to write about things I find interesting, share what I’m learning, and occasionally document projects I’m working on.
I’m drawn to the intersection of technology, creativity, and communication. I believe that writing is a powerful tool for learning and sharing knowledge, and I’m excited to use this platform to do just that.
What to expect
I write about:
- Web development — JavaScript, frameworks, and the ever-evolving landscape of the web
- Software engineering — patterns, tools, and lessons learned
- Application security — strategies, techniques, and real-world applications
- Side projects — things I’m building and experimenting with
- Miscellaneous — anything else that feels worth writing down, whether it’s a deep dive into a technical topic or a reflection on the broader world of technology.
Posts won’t follow a strict schedule. Quality over cadence.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something interesting to read!
